The street’s name comes from the Church of Saint Collen and the original church was founded by the Saint in the late 16th Century. Collen was an Irish warrior and religious figure who lived for a time as a hermit on Glastonbury Tor. The church has been altered and rebuilt over the years, the amazing carved oak ceiling dates from the 15th Century.
